HTC might soon announce three new budget handsets, dubbed Desire 516t, Desire 516w and Desire 316, if new reports are to be believed.

The fresh baked rumours suggest the HTC Desire 516 will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS out of the box. The handset, said to be certified in China for operator China Mobile, is said feature a 5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) display.

The HTC Desire 516 is expected to run a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek processor under-the-hood paired with 512MB RAM. The camera front includes a 5-megapixel rear shooter with an LED flash alongside a VGA front-facing camera.

Further reports indicate the HTC Desire 516 will reportedly come in two variants - Desire 516t and Desire 516w. The Desire 516t features the same specifications as mentioned above, while the Desire 516w is expected to run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that's coupled with 1GB of RAM.

Both the rumoured HTC Desire 516 handsets however, seem to be China-specific though they might be rolled-out to other regions in the future.

Besides the HTC Desire 516 series, another handset dubbed Desire 316 has been also spotted online. The smartphone information leaked by Xdkb.net indicates the Desire 316 is the single-SIM variant of the Desire 516 - though in China certification did not indicate the Desire 516 was a dual-SIM device.
