Huawei Mate X foldable phone was launched at MWC 2019.

Huawei's event at MWC 2019 (Mobile World Congress) has begun. Huawei CEO Richard Yu took the stage tho announce that Huawei shipped over 206 million smartphones in 2018. The first product that Huawei launched at MWC 2019 was the Huawei MateBook X Pro, which is a thin and light laptop with a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Huawei Mate X is a smartphone with a 6.6-inch FullView display and when you open it, the smartphone has an 8-inch screen. This is Huawei's first smartphone with a folding display. Here's how you can watch the Huawei Mate X launch live stream.

 

Huawei Mate X specifications

The Huawei Mate X has a 6.6-inch OLED display when folded that becomes an 8-inch OLED screen when it is opened. When folded, the smartphone has a 6.38-inch screen at the back, which can be used too. There is a groove that runs across the length of the phone (called the sidebar) for you to hold the smartphone and on one end of this is the USB Type-C port for charging. There is no camera bump on this phone. The smartphone does not have a notch on the display and very thin bezels. The fingerprint sensor on the Huawei Mate X is on the power button. Huawei has dubbed the folding phone's design "Falcon Wing" and its engineers have been working on this design for three years. When you fold the smartphone, there are no gaps between the smartphone's front and the back. Huawei says there are over 100 components on the smartphone's hinge, which it has patented. The Huawei Mate X has 8GB RAM, and 512GB Storage.

The Huawei Mate X is 5.4mm thick at its thinnest point when unfolded. When you open it, the Huawei Mate X has a thickness of 11mm. On the software front, the Huawei Mate X allows you to open two apps side-by-side and move files from one app to the other (such as photos being attached to an email). The Huawei Mate X has a mirror shooting mode to let you see your picture as it is being clicked by someone else.This is possible thanks to the folding display. Huawei Mate X is available in one colour - Interstellar Blue. The company is launching a Full Protection Case that is adapted to this phone specifically. The Mate X supports 5G connectivity. The Huawei Mate X has the Kirin 980 SoC and the Balong 5000 chip for enhanced 5G connectivity. Huawei Mate X is a dual-SIM smartphone with a hybrid dual-SIM slot. The primary SIM slot supports 5G while the secondary slot supports a maximum of 4G. The Huawei Mate X has a 4,500mAh battery and it supports 55W fast charging. Huawei claims that the Mate X battery can be charged 85 percent in 30 minutes.

The Huawei Mate X is priced at EUR 2,299 (roughly Rs. 1.86 lakhs). It will be available from the "middle of 2019", maybe "June", Huawei said.

Huawei MateBook X Pro specs, price

Huawei MateBook X Pro is available in two colours -- Silver and space gray. The MateBook X Pro has a 13.9-inch display and is 4.9mm thick at its thinnest point, and 14.6mm thick at its thickest point. The screen-to-body ratio of the Huawei MateBook X Pro is 91 percent. It has an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 series processor. It has an Nvidia GeForce MX250 GPU. The MateBook X Pro has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button. The laptop has a quad speaker array. One of the cool features of the MateBook X Pro is  Huawei Share OneHop, an NFC chip on the laptop that let's you quickly transfer files between the laptop and a smartphone. This also allows you to shake your smartphone and tap on the NFC chip to record your laptop's screen on your phone. You can even share the contents of your clipboard between your MateBook X Pro and smartphone easily. This laptop also has a three-finger swipe to take screenshots. The MateBook X Pro starts at EUR 1,599 (roughly Rs. 1.30 lakhs).

Huawei MateBook 14 specs, price

Huawei also launched a touchscreen variant of the Huawei MateBook 13, along with the MateBook 14 laptop. With the MateBook 14, you get a recessed camera, which is in the keyboard and pops up when you need it. It has a 14-inch FullView display with a touchscreen. The display resolution is 2160x1440 pixels. The MateBook 14 gets up to Intel Core i7 8565 CPU, Nvidia GeForce MX250 GPU, and up to 10.5 hours of battery life while browsing the web. The MateBook 13 Touchscreen starts at EUR 999 (roughly Rs. 81,000) and the MateBook 14 starts at EUR 1,199 (roughly Rs. 97,000)

Huawei also launched a 5G CPE Pro at the MWC 2019 event, with support for Wi-Fi 6 and Huawei HiLink's smart home solution. The company launched a mobile Wi-Fi device Huawei 5G WiFi Mobile that has an 8,000mAh battery.
