iPhoto, an app launched by Apple earlier this month, has become an instant hit. As per reports in The Loop, the company's newest iOS app hit 1 million users within ten days of its release.

iPhoto is an elegant tool that helps you browse, edit and share your photos from the iPhone or the iPad onto social networking sites. Apart from uploading them onto Facebook, Twitter and Flickr, you can also stream the images to your Apple TV using Airplay or publish your Photo Journals on the Internet using iCloud.

Photo Journals is a unique and personalized way of sharing your stories - you can add captions to your photos, resize the images, add fun stuff like maps and even the weather. The photos themselves can be edited through Multi-Touch Editing, where adjusting white balance, making precise colour corrections, and enhancing the quality of your pictures is made easy. Images can be treated to professional quality effects with a selection of graduated filters and can even be transformed into watercolours by applying artistic effects. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

iPhoto can be downloaded from the Apple App Store for $4.99.
