Lava Iris 503 budget 5-inch Android 4.2 smartphone launched at Rs. 9,999

Lava has unveiled the Iris 503 smartphone at Rs. 9,999 in India. The domestic handset manufacturer announced the smartphone at the India Telecom 2013 event in New Delhi. Earlier, the Lava Iris 503 was listed with a discounted price of Rs. 8,990 at an online retailer.

The Lava Iris 503 is the successor to the Iris 502, which was launched in February this year. The Iris 503 supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

It features a 5-inch qHD (540x960) IPS display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor (unspecified chipset) along with 512MB of RAM. It sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with BSI sensor and LED flash. There is also a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera onboard.

The smartphone comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. Connectivity options on the Lava Iris 503 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ AGPS and 3G. It packs a 2000mAh battery.

Recently, the Lava Iris 456 was available online at Rs. 7,018. The Lava Iris 456 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and is a dual-SIM device with support for GSM+GSM. It comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480x854) IPS display. The Iris 456 is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor (unspecified chipset) with 512MB of RAM. It sports dual cameras - a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera features smile detection, face detection, burst mode, HDR mode, vertical Panorama, and a BSI sensor.
