LG Optimus F5 global rollout begins, coming to Asia soon

LG is all set to release its Optimus F5 smartphone globally. France will be the first market to get this smartphone on April 29. Post the launch in France, the LG Optimus F5 will be made available in South and Central America, Asia and Eastern Europe over "the next several weeks".

The pricing of this mid-range smartphone is still being kept under wraps. At this stage it is difficult to ascertain the exact date for its India launch, or the expected price.

LG had announced its F-Series - Optimus F7 and Optimus F5 - in February 2013, just a few days ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013.

LG Optimus F5 is a 4G LTE smartphone that run on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) along with a layer of LG's Optimus UI. It features a 4.3-inch IPS display with a pixel density of 256ppi. It runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of internal storage and 2,150mAh battery. For camera, there is a 5-megapixel rear shooter and 1.3-megapixel one on the front.

:LG Optimus F7 on the other hand offers a 4.7-inch True HD IPS display and a pixel density of 312ppi. It is powered by 1.5GHz dual-Core processor with 2GB of RAM. Internal storage available on this smartphone is 8GB, which can be expanded by up to 32GB through a microSD card. There is an 8-megapixel front shooter while the front one is 1.3-megapixel. LG Optimus F7 packs in 2,540mAh battery.

Both LG Optimus F7 and Optimus F5 include advanced UX features such as the upgraded QSlide and Live Zooming, previously only available on LG's premium devices.
