  • The new service is initially available for select pin codes in Bengaluru
  • Customers can access it through Mi.com or Mi Store app

Xiaomi has kickstarted an Express Delivery service in India for orders placed through its Mi.com site and Mi Store app. The service, which is currently available only in Bengaluru, is designed to deliver orders within a single day, without any additional costs levied on the customers. The latest move comes days after the Chinese giant launched its WhatsApp-based service in India to engage with its fans.

You need to select 'Express Delivery' option from the 'Order Information' page on the Mi.com site to avail the new service. In case if you're placing an order from the Mi Store app, you need to tap the 'Delivery Service' option after proceeding to checkout, and if eligible, you'll see the option to opt for 'Express Delivery Service'. After that, you simply need to hit the 'Confirm' button to get your order delivered using the new service.

It is worth noting here that there are certain conditions to avail the Express Delivery service. Firstly, the order timings must be between 9am and 4:30pm to opt for the new service. Secondly, the Cash on Delivery (COD) option will not be applicable if you've selected express delivery for your orders. The service is also presently available for an order consisting one of the eligible products only and is not available on Sundays.

The list of eligible products for Express Delivery includes the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4, Redmi Y1, Redmi 5A, Mi Max 2, and Mi A1. Moreover, the availability of the service is subject to select pin codes.

It seems that Xiaomi is aiming to counter Amazon and Flipkart with the latest Express Delivery service. However, the success of the new service will depend on how fast it is able to cater the growing demand of Xiaomi customers in the country.

Last month, Xiaomi partnered with Smartbox to start offering deliveries for orders made through Mi.com and the Mi Store app via automated parcel terminals across India. Smartbox delivery terminals are strategically located various locations, including metro stations, residential complexes, and office areas around the country.

As mentioned earlier, Xiaomi recently launched its WhatsApp-based Xiaomi Mi Bunny subscription service in India, aimed at offering instant updates about latest Xiaomi news, new product launches, product deals, sale reminders, notifications about MIUI weekly updates, and reminders about Mi Fan meetups. The service is accessible once you send "Xiaomi" to +91-7760944500 along with your name and city via WhatsApp.
