Need for Speed Payback is the 23rd game in Electronic Arts' immensely popular racing game franchise. The Need for Speed series has almost always been known for arcade racing games, and of late the brand has been expanding into Hollywood movies as well. The series was great until the mid-2000s but lost its way after that. EA has been looking to restore the series to its glory days, and Need for Speed Payback is a part of that effort.
