Sony MDR-XB450BV Vibration-Enabled Headphones Launched at Rs. 5,990

Sony on Wednesday launched its MDR-XB450BV headphones in India at a price tag of Rs. 5,990. The black-coloured headphones are already available to buy from all the Sony Centres in the country.

The Sony MDR-XB450BV headphones boasts of a 5Hz-22000Hz frequency alongside an Extra Bass Boost and a vibration feature. The vibration feature, which can be controlled by a dial, makes the headphones vibrate during bass-heavy segments. It also features swivel-folding style earpieces for portability, and a tangle-free flat serration cord that's 1.2-metres long.

Also, besides a 30mm sound driver unit, the MDR-XB450BV's earpieces are coated by a brushed metal-casing. The headphones feature an L-shaped gold-plated jack, and weigh 273 grams (including AAA battery) The headphones additionally feature an LED indicator and are backed by a battery that can give 60 hours of life under 1kHz output, and 20 hours under 100Hz. The headphones are listed on the Sony India website.

Sony last launched its MDR-XB950BT Bluetooth and NFC Wireless 'Extra Bass' headphones in India, priced at Rs. 12,990 in October.

Sony India in August had launched two new pairs of headphones - the MDR-XB250, MDR-XB450 - and one new pair of earphones - the MDR-AS200. They are priced at Rs. 2,190, Rs. 1,490 and Rs. 790 respectively. Sony had says the MDR-XB250 and MDR-XB450 are targeted at bass lovers, and the MDR-AS200 at sports enthusiasts.

The Sony MDR-XB450 and MDR-XB250 are nearly identical, except for the metal body on the former. The Sony MDR-AS200 earphones, built for extreme sporting activities, have an adjustable ear loops and the same flat cord.

Sony's rival, Beats, also introduced its new wireless on-ear headphones - named Beats Solo2 Wireless - in the global market earlier this month.
