Popular lingerie brand, Victoria's Secret, is now selling a heart-rate monitor compatible sports bra that houses the required sensors within the fabric.

"Incredible by Victoria's Secret Heart-rate Monitor Compatible Sport Bra" is priced between $72.50 - $75.50, which translates to roughly between Rs. 4,400 and Rs. 4,700.

While all the heart-rate monitor compatible sensors are built into the fabric, users will additionally need a heart-rate monitoring device to check the data collected. The listing specifies compatibility with 'leading brands' of monitors, but nothing further. No belt is required, reports Wearable Tech Insider.

Notably, the company behind the technology, named Clothing+, is the same company that has been behind sports tech from the likes of Adidas and Under Armour.

Earlier this year, during the CES, wearable tech was the hottest things on display. It witnessed the Sensoria Fitness bra, T-shirt and socks, which can connect to a smartphone and is designed for runners and others who want to monitor their health and improve workouts.

Similarly, last year, Microsoft had also designed a 'smart bra', which featured removable sensors that monitor heart and skin activity, and inferred whether the wearer is feeling stress. The ostensible purpose of the 'bra sensing system' is to help prevent stress-related overeating.

Designed by a team from Microsoft's visualisation and interaction research group, along with researchers at the University of Rochester and University of Southampton, the smart bra features a GRASP (Generic Remote Access Sensing Platform) board that is powered by a Lithium-Ion battery, and can sample up to eight bio-signals. Four sensors have been bundled on the bra, and linked to the GRASP board - an electrocardiogram (EKG) sensor, an electrodermal activity sensor (EDA) for measuring skin conductance, and two movement sensors, a 3-axis accelerometer and 2-axis gyroscope.
