UCWeb has launched a new integrated PNR and train status checker feature, called 'Train Enquiry', for its UC Browser smartphone app. The feature, apart from letting users check their PNR and train status in-app, lets them search for India Railways trains.

Announced on Monday, the new service can be found on the UC Browser app's main navigation page, under the Top Sites or Shopping & Utility sections, labelled as IndiaTrain. Once opened, the feature sports the title 'Train Enquiry', and lists PNR Status, Train Status and Train Search as options. UCWeb says with the new Train Enquiry feature, users will be able to access all the information without facing any online registration or verification barriers required by some other portals.

Apart from searching for trains via boarding location and destination with the Train Search feature, users will be able to find trains and check their status via their 5-digit Indian Railways train number. Seat availability information, tickets, along with number of stations on the select route will also be shown.

One of the key features of the Train Enquiry service is its ability to auto-complete Train Status forms based on the recent PNR status search history, eliminating the need to fill-up the same columns. The service also can also provide automatic status updates, and to quickly share status details from fellow passengers.

It is worth noting that users can even provide their feedback about the service via a small feedback button placed on the top right corner of the main webpage. The updated UC Browser app with its 'Train Enquiry' feature is available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone users from their respective app stores.

It has been also understood that users can also access the web service of the PNR Status Checker via a different web browser, navigating to its dedicated website - train.ucweb.com.

In the press statement, UCWeb also stated its intention to make its free in-app service available to all the 14 million people who travel via the Indian Railways every day.

Notably, the Indian Railways also announced an app called NTES in April, offering similar service to users.
