More than 40,000 Indian customers have told Amazon.in exactly what they want from their tech. The verdict landed at Le Meridian, Gurugram, and the biggest names and the biggest brands were in the room to hear it.

Amazon India's Best in Tech Awards (BITA) returned for a second edition, bringing together 400+ people, including brand heads, founders, creators and gadget reviewers. The evening kept the customer at centre stage, and the process explains why. BITA is Amazon's tech awards programme, powered entirely by real purchase data. Shortlists are drawn from Amazon.in ratings, reviews and sales. An independent jury of leading tech experts validates them, and they then go to a nationwide public vote, which ran from September 1 to 15, 2026. The winners spanned 15 categories, from smartphones and computing devices to appliances and TVs.

Between trophies, the conversation turned to AI. Rajiv Makhni moderated a panel titled "The AI Revolution: What's Next for a Billion Users?", featuring Zeba Khan, Director-Consumer Electronics, Amazon India, alongside Puneet Gupta, Swetha Shankar and IDC India's Upasana Joshi. The Best in Tech Survey gave the discussion some hard numbers: 82% of smartphone buyers now expect AI features as standard. Performance and speed topped purchase priorities at 87%, ahead of battery life (79%) and camera quality (77%).

A session on full-funnel advertising solutions followed, led by Gulshan Verma, Director, Amazon Ads India. It looked at how brands can connect awareness, consideration and purchase to drive impact across the consumer journey. Verma pointed to the growing convergence of brand-building and performance marketing, and to how technology, insights and AI tools are helping marketers engage customers with greater relevance at every stage.

A few of the winners. In smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 5G took Best Foldable Smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra was recognised as the Record-breaking Android Smartphone on Amazon.in, and the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G was awarded the Entertainment Icon - Midrange smartphone. In personal computing, Intel processors powered two winning laptops. The ASUS Zenbook 14, Intel Ultra 9 won Smartchoice Laptop of the Year, while the Dell 15, Intel i5 13th Gen was named Best Laptop for Students. Intel also took Best Innovator Chipset for its Intel Panther Lake Series.

Home entertainment honours went to the Hisense 85-inch ULED MiniLED Smart AI TV, which won Best Large Screen TV of the Year, and the TCL 55 inches 4K UHD Smart QLED Google TV, which took the Customer's Choice Award. Homegrown brand Lumio Vision 9 2026 55 inches 4K Ultra HD Smart QD-MiniLED Google TV won Most Trending TV of the Year.

"The Best in Tech Awards have quickly become the benchmark for consumer technology in India, because the winners are chosen by the people who matter most: our customers. Every winner earned its place twice, first as one of the highest-rated products on Amazon.in and then in the customer vote. In just its second edition, BITA has brought together the biggest names in technology to celebrate products customers love and heading into the festive season, it gives customers a trusted shortlist of the best tech to buy," said Zeba Khan, Director - Consumer Electronics, Amazon India.

Away from the stage, the evening spilled into four experience zones. The AI Tech Lab showcased the year's best AI-powered products. The Gaming Zone proved a strong draw among enthusiasts, and the Shutterbug corner drew in Amazon's growing community of photographers. At the Fire TV Zone, Echo devices and Fire TV were on full display, with guests seeing the full potential of both.

For Amazon.in, the evening capped a season of listening to customers. With the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 around the corner, the winners' list gives shoppers a head start: products customers across India have already bought, rated and voted for.
