Leica TL Mirrorless Camera Adds Improved Autofocus, Twice the Internal Memory and More

Leica has introduced the TL, an upgrade to the Leica T which the company launched way back in 2014. The new model is touted to have an improved autofocus system, twice the internal storage and better compatibility with Leica's legacy lenses. The camera will be available this month for $1,695 (approximately Rs. 1,12,700).

The TL is a mirrorless camera with a 16-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and features an ISO range of 100-12500; RAW shooting; 5fps burst mode; and video recording up to 1080p at 30fps. The internal memory is now doubled, from 16GB in the old model to 32GB in the new one. Of course, you can expand this further with an SD card too. It uses an aluminium body similar to its predecessor and comes in silver, black, and titanium colour options, with the letter getting special chaffered edges for the top and bottom plates.

The camera also sports a 3.7-inch LCD touchscreen display, a pop-up flash unit and an optional GPS and electronic viewfinder attachment. Leica states that the new TL camera features a much better autofocus system, especially when you're using it in AF-C mode. Unlike the older model, you can now attach SL-lenses with OIS as well as R-System lenses with the use of an adapter.

With the Leica TL, you get built-in Wi-Fi which lets you connect to your smartphone or tablet using the Android or iOS app. You can also use the app as a remote viewfinder to frame your shots and it also lets you control shutter speed and aperture settings before taking the shot.
