Highlights
  • GTA 6 is in development according to an actor's resume
  • Developer Rockstar has not announced the game officially
  • It was previously rumoured that the game will take place in the US

Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) is in development if an actor’s resume is to be believed.

A new entry in the long-running open-world crime series has been expected though developer Rockstar has been mum on its prospects, happy to continue supporting GTA Online as well as throw us a few hints on the progress of development around Red Dead Redemption 2.

Nonetheless, stunt and motion capture actor Tim Neff’s resume includes the aforementioned Red Dead Redemption 2 and Gran Theft Auto 6. Large studios like Rockstar commonly work on multiple games at once and considering how well Grand Theft Auto V did, a new entry isn’t surprising.

Earlier in the week, Rockstar owner Take-Two hinted that the GTA developer’s upcoming games will have a larger online component.

“Obviously we know what Rockstar tends to do. And Rockstar’s activities have been transformed by Grand Theft Auto Online,” Strauss Zelnick said.

Previously it was suggested that Rockstar had already finished preliminary work on GTA 6, and considered GTA: Tokyo, GTA: Bogota, and GTA: Sin City in the process. It decided against these options due to logistical and cultural reasons, preferring to keep it in the US.

Given how long GTA games take to hit the shelves, we won’t be surprised to see Rockstar not announce it officially anytime soon.
