Highlights
  • The game got pushed from May 24 to June 9.
  • This is the second delay, first one happened in October 2015.
  • Delay doesn’t affect closed beta.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst, EA DICE's open world parkour game, has gotten delayed yet again. It will now release on June 7 in North America and June 9 in Europe and India.

"Taking on Dashes designed by DICE, creating your own Time Trials, climbing the Leaderboards, and connecting with your Runner friends are some of the Social Play features we're really excited about - and something we want to play flawlessly," Erik Odeldahl, design director for DICE, wrote in a blog post.

"To support the Social Play features, we are using a brand new online technology. We also want to make sure we have the opportunity and time to address player feedback from the Closed Beta. That is why we will give ourselves a bit more time to perfect the game, with a new release date for Mirror's Edge Catalyst of June 7th (NA) and June 9th (EU). We're confident that these extra two weeks will make sure the game is as amazing as possible for you the players."

This isn't the first delay the game has encountered. In October 2015, EA announced they were pushing the release data from February to May to deliver an experience "as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be". While fans might be unhappy, delays aren't always a bad thing as they allow developers the time they need to ship things in a complete state, rather than release a half-broken version.

Odeldahl didn't say anything about the closed beta, which means the ones who registered for it can look forward to playing with Faith from Friday to Tuesday.
