Form a virtual rock band with Google's new JAM with Chrome
Just when you think Google couldn't do anything cooler, it goes ahead and does something that'll blow your mind. The latest is the brand new JAM with Chrome web app.

The app lets you pick one of 19 instruments and play it in easy or pro modes. We gave it a spin and were rocking the drums in no time at all! It's easy to get started, and the instruments sound pretty realistic with no lag or any other performance issues of any kind. While the easy mode lets you play the instrument by dragging the cursor around, the pro mode offers a lot more control by letting you use the keyboard.

The best part is that the app lets you invite up to three of your friends to join in the fun. But where's the record button? We wish we could record and share our masterpiece with the world! The app does have other handy features like a metronome, in-app help to get you started, as well as in-app chat to coordinate with your fell band members. You can leave a session and carry on where you left it the last time.

Unfortunately the app works only in Google's Chrome browser. The app is so cool you will want to download Chrome, if you don't have it already - probably the reason Google's giving it away for free. If you are interested in the technology behind the app that makes it possible, Google has shared the necessary information.

If you're still not convinced, check out this cool video and then head over to the JAM with Chrome website.
