  • Outlook Premium available for public as a preview
  • Service currently priced at $19.95 (roughly Rs. 1,300) for a year
  • The regular price of the service will be $49.99 (roughly Rs. 3,300)

Microsoft started testing Outlook Premium, the ad-free premium version of Outlook.com, with a limited number of users earlier this year but clarified that it was "not an existing offering." The company later started sending out invites, which allowed the recipients to test its premium service at a $3.99 (roughly Rs. 300) price point. Now, the Redmond-based company has made the service available as a preview for public at an offer price of $19.95 (roughly Rs. 1,300) for a year, and a price of $49.99 (roughly Rs. 3,300) per year after that.

Zdnet notes that currently the preview is only available in the US and can be subscribed from the dedicated page for Outlook Premium. The preview offer comes with a custom domain free for a year, though Microsoft "retains ownership of the domain", if you signup for a new one.

Outlook Premium, apart from ad-free inbox, also provides better calendar sharing, among other premium features. Most notably, it brings support for up to five new custom domain accounts, a feature which was removed by the company in 2014 from Outlook.com. The subscription for the premium version will auto-renew annually at "then current prices" and there will be an additional charge for the custom domain, the company has mentioned on its its website's FAQ (frequently asked questions) page.

The company has clarified that the premium version will only support up to five custom domains, and users who are interested in more can instead opt for Office 365 Business Essentials. Further, the custom domains will be cancelled as soon as the users cancel their subscription to Outlook Premium.
