UCWeb, the company that makes the popular UCBrowser software, has launched a UC Open Platform for mobile developers and publishers. With this platform, UCWeb aims to help developers, content providers, advertisers and publishers with brand promotion, traffic acquisition, user metric analysis and monetisation.

At the Global Mobile Internet Conference (GMIC) in Bangalore, UCWeb said the platform aims to help people reach their target audience on the Web.

UCWeb Managing Director, Kenny Ye said, "Whether you are a developer needing more distribution or a publisher seeking more high-quality traffic, we can tailor the best fit solution for you. With the UC Open Platform, we are not only sharing our experience and resources with the community, but making the market a bigger pie for everyone."

UCWeb aims to accomplish its goals for the Open Platform via UC Browser, which it says will give its partners brand exposure and mobile traffic. UCWeb plans to use 9Apps and 9Game app marketplaces for app promotion via the UC Open Platform. UC Union mobile traffic network will help publishers get traffic and monetise it via advertising, the company said.

Speaking at the sidelines of a conference in Bangalore, UCWeb executives said the platform will help developers and publishers increase product visibility through promotions on global mobile game and media channels. Those who use this platform will be provided with data analysis on active users and user retention, which will help developers analyse user behaviour and help them find better ways to monetise their products, the officials added.

UCWeb says it has experienced "tremendous growth" in India over the past three years. The company says the number of daily page views for UC Browser have increased 91.7 percent over the past year. The company says app marketplaces 9Apps and 9Game will soon establish an office in Mumbai to cater to demand.

Disclosure: UCWeb sponsored the correspondent's flights and hotel for GMIC in Bangalore.
