Google decided to go the Apple way and adopt the notch on its most premium smartphone offering this year - the Pixel 3 XL. The physical notch has received a mixed response, with some outrage at its design. As if the one notch wasn't enough, few Pixel 3 XL units are now seeing a second notch on the top right edge of the screen. Obviously this is a bug, and this software notch is similar to the physical notch present on top of the display screen. Some users claim that this glitch is being caused due to some confusion in the phone's interpretation in orientation. In any case, Google has acknowledged the issue and is looking to roll out fix soon.

Users on Reddit, UrAvgConusmer, and many other early adopters are seeing this second notch on their screen. Some claim that the notch disappears on restarting the phone or tinkering with the developer settings. Not all users are experiencing this bug, though. Google responded to Android Police stating that they are aware of this odd behaviour and are looking to fix it soon. While the nature of this bug remains unknown, many say that something is causing the screen rotation setting to get confused about the orientation.

This isn't the first bug reported by early adopters of the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Up until now, there have been multiple users and reviewers claiming that the audio quality while recording videos on the two flagship smartphones turns out to be poor, an issue to which Google had also responded. Some also claim that there is imbalanced audio output from the front-firing speakers of the Pixel 3 XL, while others say the phones have a major memory management issue and also that photos do not save automatically. Some Pixel 3 XL users are also experiencing a static, buzzing, and distorted sound even when listening to audio at low volumes.
