Indian smartphone manufacturer Intex on Thursday added what is calling a "flagship" and "premium" smartphone to its lineup, the Aqua GenX. The Aqua GenX is priced at Rs. 13,299 and will be sold through offline retailers starting Thursday.

As for the specifications, the Intex Aqua GenX runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with no word on when (or if) it will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade. It sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display which comes with DragonTrail glass coating. It is powered by MediaTek MT6753 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, and 2GB of RAM. On the storage front, the Intex Aqua GenX comes with 16GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB).

On the photography front, there's a 13-megapixel rear-camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with software features such as Gloves Mode to enhance user experience. There's also a 2800mAh battery onboard. The dual-SIM capable smartphone offers 4G LTE, 3G, and Wi-Fi among other standard connectivity options. For the second SIM to be used, a user will have to take out the microSD card, the company noted.
