Lava launches IRIS 349, IRIS 351 and IRIS 355 smartphones with Android 2.3

Lava Mobiles has launched three new entry-level smartphones under its IRIS series - IRIS 349, IRIS 351 and IRIS 355. All of these smartphones sport a 3.5-inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display and run on the dated Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread) operating system. Another thing in common between these smartphones is that they are all dual-SIM smartphones.

Lava IRIS 349 comes with a 1GHz processor along with 256 MB of RAM. There is 113 MB of internal storage available on the smartphone that can be expanded via a microSD card to up to 32GB. For camera, there is a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA one in the front. The phone has a 1400mAh battery. The smartphone will be available to the customers for Rs. 3,999.

Priced at Rs. 4,999, the Lava IRIS 355 comes with 1GHZ processor along with 256MB RAM. There is 512MB of internal storage available on the smartphone, which can be expanded up to 16GB through microSD. There is a 1,400mAh battery on-board and connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP and GPS.

IRIS 351, on the other hand has a 1GHZ processor along with 256MB of RAM. Internal storage available on the smartphone is 512 MB, which can be expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card. It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and 1,300mAh battery. The price of Lava IRIS 351 is Rs. 5,999.

Popular apps such as Cricket Fever, Lava Zone, and Ninja Rush come pre-installed on these smartphones.

Lava is also running a teaser on their website that reads, "Phoneaday Blockbuster". Though there are not much details available regarding this initiative, but Lava has mentioned that it will be launching a phone every Friday through this endeavour. We are not sure of how many handsets the company plans to launch and how long its "Phoneaday Blockbuster" campaign will run.
