The much-awaited new iPhone from Apple, expected to be called the iPhone 6, has been making a number of online appearances thanks to some alleged dummy model leaks of the yet-to-be-announced handset.

Following up on the previous rumours, Sonny Dickson, the Australian teen that made a name for himself by repeatedly leaking images of Apple's iPhone 5s before its release last year, has now posted a couple of alleged images of Apple's next generation iPhone.

The purported leaked dummy model images of the iPhone 6, confirm what's has been widely expected based on earlier leaks, that the iPhone 6 will take design cues from Apple's current generation iPod touch. The leaked image also suggests that the next generation iPhone would come with curved edges, as reported earlier.

One of the dummy images of the rear panel indicate that the handset will sport a metal chassis at the back, while the rear camera and flash will be placed at the top left corner. Further, in-line with earlier leaks, the purported dummy image again shows the power button positioned on the right panel of the device, instead on the top panel seen on current iPhone models. Meanwhile, the leaked rear dummy image by Sonny Dickson on Twitter account again tips slightly modified volume buttons, akin to the ones seen on the current generation iPod touch.

The front panel dummy image, on the other hand, looks more like an Android smartphone rather than any Apple iPhone device. The front is seen housing a ring around the home button, suggesting that we might see the fingerprint scanner again on the iPhone 6, much like iPhone 5s. However, there is no word from Sonny Dickson if the leaked dummy models belong to the expected 4.7-inch or the 5.5-inch models of the rumoured iPhone 6.

Reports have for a while been indicating that Apple might finally enter the screen size battle with the launch of the iPhone 6, and its rumoured two display size variants - 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch.

Earlier on Friday, a report claimed that Apple might unveil a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model in August, while the 5.5-inch variant will follow latter.
