Nextbit is rolling out a software update to Robin smartphone users bringing security patches, and other tweaks. The update is being rolled out over-the-air and should reach Robin users gradually.

Nextbit has made some changes to the speaker volume, to make the minimum volume much softer. It claims that as the user increases the volume, the sound follows in linear progression. It has added two more ringtones for more choices. The ringtone pack now includes Patricia by Lauren Loh Sung and Breeze by Giraffage. The update brings along Android security patches for the month of June, apart from several other improvements and bug fixes.

To recall, the June Android security update brought fixes six vulnerabilities that have been flagged as "critical" by Google, and 11 vulnerabilities that fall on the spectrum of "high" severity. The company has also listed four "moderate" security glitches that have also been resolved.

The NextBit Robin was launched in May for Rs. 19,999 in India. The smartphone is exclusively available on Flipkart in Midnight Blue, and Mint colour options. The big highlight of this smartphone is the 100GB of free cloud-based storage solution that Nextbit offers, in order to solve the storage problem. The handset can automatically back up photos and other data that haven't been used recently to the cloud to free up space on the device.
