Vivo V5s With 20-Megapixel Selfie Camera Launched at Rs. 18,990: Release Date, Specifications, and More

Vivo V5s selfie smartphone was launched at an event in Gurugram, priced at Rs. 18,990. The new Vivo V5s pre-orders will start Thursday itself, and the first sale is scheduled for May 6; the Matte Black colour variant will be available for purchase on May 6. The Crown Gold colour variant will only become available starting May 20.

Vivo V5s specifications and features

The dual-SIM (Micro+Nano) Vivo V5s runs Funtouch OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and is a better-specced variant of the Vivo V5 that was launched in India in November last year. It features a fingerprint sensor on its home button. It bears a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Curved Glass, Gorilla Glass protection, and a pixel density of 267ppi. It is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM.

We now come to the highlight of the selfie-focused Vivo V5s - its front camera. The Vivo V5s bears a 20-megapixel front camera with a 'Moonlight Glow' front light and an f/2.0 aperture, apart from the Face Beauty 6.0 app. On the rear, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel camera with PDAF and dual-LED flash. The company is also boasting of the inclusion of the AK4376 Hi-Fi Audio chip on board. Together, these two features make the Vivo V5s a 'camera and music" smartphone.

On the storage front, the Vivo V5s offers 64GB of inbuilt storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM format. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Micro-USB with OTG, GPS/ A-GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board the Vivo V5s include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, proximity sensor, and a virtual gyroscope. The Vivo V5s runs on 3000mAh non-removable battery, weighs 154 grams, and measures 153.8x75.5x7.55mm.
