Vivo Y51 With 2GB of RAM, 5-Inch Display Launched

Vivo on Monday unveiled the Vivo X6 and Vivo X6 Plus smartphones in China. The company apart from the mid-range handsets also revealed the low-end Y51 smartphone. As of now, the Chinese company has not revealed pricing or availability details of the Vivo Y51.

The dual-SIM dual standby supporting Vivo Y51 runs the company's FunTouch OS based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and features a 5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) resolution IPS display. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of built-in storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 128GB). The Vivo Y51 also sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, apart from a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset additionally features Night mode, HDR, Panorama, and Face Beauty modes. The rear camera supports full-HD (1080p) video recording.

The Vivo Y51's China listing reveals the smartphone supports Indian 4G LTE bands (2300MHz and 1800MHz) along with GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB connectivity options. Measuring 143.8x71.7x7.52mm, the smartphone weighs 157 grams and is backed by a 2350mAh Li-Po battery. The handset packs ambient light, proximity, gravity, and digital compass sensors.

The two new smartphones, namely Vivo X6 and Vivo X6 Plus, have been priced at CNY 2,600 (roughly Rs. 27,000) and CNY 3,200 (roughly Rs. 33,200) respectively. The company also announced China Unicom versions of the Vivo X6 and Vivo X6 Plus which will be available at CNY 2,500 (roughly Rs. 26,000) and CNY 3,000 (roughly Rs. 31,000) respectively.

Vivo at the launch touted that the fingerprint sensors X6 and X6 Plus, placed at the rear panel below the camera, can unlock the screen within 0.4 seconds. It can be also used as a self-timer shutter button for taking selfie images. Both are made of anodized aluminium-magnesium alloy.
