Google has silently added a new Mentions tab to its Google+ Web interface that shows users all posts in which they have been tagged. Earlier, users only had the option to check through notifications manually.

Now, the top bar of the Google+ on Web has added the Mentions tab next to the More tab. On clicking the Mentions tab, all the posts in which the user was ever 'mentioned' or tagged will be displayed.

Google hasn't officially announced the feature, so there are no details of exactly when the new Mentions tab was added. The feature was first reported by Android Police on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Google released a new standalone Messenger app on Google Play with Material Design along with the roll out of Material Design update to the Google Search app, which was spotted in testing last month.

Apart from the new Material Design theme, the new Messenger app has brought a few new features that distinguish it from the stock SMS app and Hangouts. The app gives users more control with the new block feature that was missing in the SMS app. It also includes support for audio messages, emoticons, coloured text threads, message archiving and more.

On the other hand, the updated Google Search app for Android lets users search within apps using 'Ok Google' voice command. It also allows users to flip a coin using "Google, flip a coin" voice command and it does that. Google Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users can also set up 'Ok Google' voice command even the device is asleep, just like the Moto X.
