Apple Introduces New Smart Covers and Smart Cases for iPad Tablets

Along with new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 launch on Thursday, Apple has also introduced new Smart Covers and Smart Cases for the iPad tablets.

The latest iPad Air Smart Cover (in polyurethane material) is priced at $39 (approximately Rs. 2,400) and comes in Black, Blue, Green, Pink, Red, White and Yellow colour options. It is compatible with both the last year's iPad Air and the newly launched iPad Air 2.

The iPad mini Smart Cover (in polyurethane material) is compatible with all three generations of iPad mini and comes in Black, Blue, Green, Pink, Red, White and Yellow colour options as well. It is also priced at $39 (approximately Rs. 2,400).

The all new Smart Cases for the the iPad mini 3 and iPad Air 2 are only compatible with the new generation of tablets. The iPad mini Smart Case (in leather material) is priced at $69 (approximately Rs. 4,200) and comes in Black, Midnight Blue, Olive Brown, Red, and Soft Pink.

The iPad Air 2 Smart Case (in leather material) also comes in the same colour as iPad mini Smart Case. It is priced at $79 (approximately Rs. 4,800).

The new iPad Air 2 is just 6.1 mm thin, and weighs 437 grams. The price in India for the new tablets has been announced, but there's no word on their exact availability date, though a launch within this month this likely.

The iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 will be available in select countries next week.

Apple has also slashed the prices of some older iPad models. The iPad mini with Retina display, also called the iPad mini 2, will now start at Rs. 21,900, while the original iPad mini will now start at Rs. 17,900. The iPad Air will start at Rs. 28,900. All prices are for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model.
