Aakash tablet-maker Datawind has been in the news for all the wrong reasons off-late. HRD Minister M M Pallam Raju recently raised doubts about Datawind's capability to produce enough Aakash tablets. Though IT and Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal was quick to dismiss these suggestions, with Raju himself seen to be retracting from his earlier comments, the doubters remain unconvinced, given company's previous record. Now, another one of company's tablet has surfaced online.

Datawind UbiSlate 7C+ Edge has been spotted over at Snapdeal carrying a price-tag of Rs. 5,999. The 7-inch tablet sports a 800x480 resolution capacitive display and is powered by a 1Ghz Cortex A8 processor alongside 512MB of RAM. UbiSlate 7C+ Edge comes with 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable by another 32GB via microSD card.

As the name suggests, the tablet comes with 2G EDGE connectivity option alongside Wi-Fi and USB, but no 3G, GPS or Bluetooth. Voice calling is supported as well. Datawind UbiSlate 7C+ Edge is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and sports a front-facing VGA camera. The tablet comes with a 3,200mAH battery that, as per the website, gives 4 hours of usage over Wi-Fi.
