Intex launches dual-SIM i-Buddy Connect 3G tablet with voice calling

Intex has launched a 7-inch 3G enabled tablet, i-Buddy Connect 3G for Rs. 9,990.

With the tablet, Intex wants to target the K12 education segment as it features Educlass, a school application that offers preloaded NCERT text books for classes 1st to 12th, a repository of question banks and interactive content for various subjects.

The tablet is powered by a 1Ghz dual-core processor, and has 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and comes with 4GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The tablet also offers HDMI connectivity through which it can be connected to a bigger screen. It sports a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front facing one. The tablet features dual-SIM slots with voice calling support.

It comes pre-loaded with apps such as Nimbuzz, Skype, Facebook, and Yahoo Messenger.

Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, General Manager- Mobile Business, Intex Technologies said, "Further to our promise of continually bringing innovation to our customers at an affordable price, this is our latest offering for the urban and semi-urban youth. Aesthetically designed, i-Buddy Connect 3G aims to provide entertainment and education to our customers, considering a huge portion of them are high users of internet. India's booming digital economy is poised to reach 350-450 million by 2015-16 and we at Intex are encouraging the growth trend by creating such products that would empower the youth to have the latest technology a click away."

The i-Buddy tablet is available in two colors, Black and Brown and can be purchased through 15,000 plus distributors and reseller outlets in addition to more than 50 Intex Squares and hypermarkets across the country.
