Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) 3G Starts Receiving KitKat Update in India

In April, Samsung had announced the start of the roll-out of the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition). Now users in India are reporting the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) 3G tablet has started receiving the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update OTA (over-the-air).

The 574MB Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) 3G tablet can also manually found under Settings>General >About tablet>Software updates.

In April, we reported the Wi-Fi variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) was receiving the update, and that the update for 3G and LTE models was expected soon.

It was also reported that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) brings faster performance, wireless printing support, full-screen album, new camera shortcut, white status bar icons, enhanced sound controls, default home and SMS apps and general stability improvements.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update roll-out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) 3G tablet was tipped by user Harish via AndroidOS.

Notably, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) was first unveiled at IFA 2013 with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It features a 10.1-inch WQXGA (2560X1600) Super Clear LCD display.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) in India is powered by a 1.9GHz quad-core Exynos 5 Octa processor. There is 3GB of RAM and the tablet comes with 16GB built-in storage options. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor and autofocus accompanied by an LED flash, as well as a 2-megapixel BSI sensor.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) packs massive 8220mAh battery to support its large screen. It comes preloaded with Samsung KNOX for enhanced security. Connectivity options on the tablet include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct and AllShareCast, as well as 3G/ LTE.
