Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has assured Arunachal Pradesh that it will resolve all the problems of the BSNL service in the state, particularly in western Arunachal.

The BSNL authorities, during a meeting with a Lok Sabha member from the state - Takam Sanjoy, on Tuesday said it would make operational the Phase 7 of the mobile plan project of 2014-15 soon, with most of the Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) and Digital Satellite Phone Terminal (DSPT) to be made functional, official sources said in Itanagar on Wednesday.

BTS at Mengio, Nyimte, Sarli and Kheel, where the towers were erected long ago, would be activated soon with proper equipment for which purchase orders have already been placed at the headquarters, BSNL officials informed Sanjoy.

Also, this month the concerned sub-divisional telecom officer would conduct a 'roadshow' in faraway places starting from Monigong and Tato, where the mobile connection would be given after minor formalities.

On a request from the officials to impress upon the authority for 100 percent subsidy on spectrum charges that annually comes to Rs. 15 lakhs to Rs. 20 lakhs per annum, Sanjoy said he would take up the matter with the Union Ministry of Telecommunication citing the strategic location of the state.

On being told about the possible damage of optical fibre cable during the ongoing Trans-Arunachal Highway project execution in Arunachal Pradesh, Sanjoy said he would take up the matter with the authorities to have a provision for a cable-duct to ensure safety, sources added.
