The Creative Aurvana ANC headset features a lightweight design and plush leatherette memory foam ear-padding for enhanced comfort. The detachable 1.5m cable is braided for sturdiness and also comes with an in-line microphone and remote to control music and calls on a connected smartphone. Notably, the headset is not Bluetooth-enabled and cannot be used wirelessly. The active noise cancellation functionality does of course require power to run, and the headset can be used with a single AAA-type battery, which can run for a claimed period of up to 40 hours.
The active noise cancellation technology uses a multiple-microphone set up, where the Creative Aurvana ANC headset monitors the noise levels in the environment and creates an opposing frequency in your ears to cancel the noise. This can be used regardless of whether audio is being played through the Aurvana ANC. Noise reduction is claimed to be up to 18dB, and the headphones are powered by 40mm neodymium dynamic drivers with a frequency response range of 20-20,000Hz. Also included in the sales package is a hard carry-case, an airline adapter and a single AAA battery to use with the headset.
Creative had earlier launched the Sound Blaster Roar 2 wireless speaker, in a push to boost its presence in the high-value audio market. The Aurvana ANC is a part of a similar push, and hopes to compete with brands such as Bose and Sony in providing high-quality noise-cancelling headphones at a competitive price.
