Vivo brought the Vivo U10 in India in late September to compete with Xiaomi and Realme at the budget end of the market. The Vivo U10 is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor as the Redmi Note 8 and the Realme 5. With the competition churning out phones at such a high rate, it was time for Vivo to push out an update, and now it has, with the Vivo U20. The naming clearly suggests that this is a higher-end model than the Vivo U10, and we are expecting this smartphone to keep the competition in the market alive.

Vivo U20 Summary

The Vivo U20 is from the online exclusive U series from Vivo. The Vivo U20 sports a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with a dewdrop notch at the top. It has a full-HD+ resolution and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.3 percent. The phone is a tad bulky at 193g which is mainly down to the 5,000mAh battery that it packs.

Powering the Vivo U20 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC and it is offered with 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants. Storage for both these variants remains the same at 64GB which is further expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. The smartphone is available in Racing Black and Blaze Blue colour variants. In the box, the smartphone comes with an 18W fast charger which helps top the device quickly.

Vivo ships the U20 with Funtouch OS 9.2 running on top of Android 9. It does get a fair amount of bloatware preinstalled on the smartphone. The Vivo U20 has a triple camera setup at the back consisting of a 16-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel super-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies, it has a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. It clicks decent photos in daylight but low-light camera isn’t great.

I just bought this mobile in Feb 2020. Last 3 months I am using for everything due to current situation. It never failed me. . Battery perfect. Lasts long. I keep continuously using for online training, but never heats up, and never drains faster. . Charging - Superfast, even better than C-type charger. 80% withing hour. I thought old USB type provided might be slow as I checked many reviews, but it proved wrong. . RAM/Processor - No delay what-so-ever. I played PubG HD with ease considering I am playing it for the first time. . Speakers - Best in this segment. No problem playing Audio / Video for a long time. Volume much louder. . Camera - Much better than other phones in this segment. . User interface - I am in love with this interface. Before I use to hate Vivo interface. But this time it is the best. All the features are well placed. .Internal memory: 64GB Very less as compared to the performance of the mobile. Available only around 45/50 GB for use. We need at least 128 for such a fast performing mobile. I consumed almost 60% of the memory and there is no lagging, or delay in performance that is the case with my old phones. . Display - I used best Sony mobiles with best displays, and this one is good. . Updates - Not that frequent, but once in a month. OK.
