Bingo Technologies, a Delhi-based technology company, has launched its new VR glasses - Bingo G-200. The VR glasses support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The virtual reality headset comes with a built-in screen and runs on Nibiru OS built on top of Android 5.1 Lollipop. Unlike most mobile VR headsets in the market, the Bingo G-200 is a standalone device - you don't insert your mobile phone into the headset. The Bingo G-200 is priced at Rs. 5,999 and will be available in black and white mixed colour. The VR device is available via all leading e-commerce sites, the company said in a release.

The Bingo G-200 offers a 110-degree view field, and images in 1280x720 HD resolution. The headset is powered by an ARM Cortex A7 CPU paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM (expandable up to 32 GB). It is fitted with a 5000mAh battery, which the company claims will offer up to six hours of play time.

The Bingo G-200 comes with leather and foam cushioning for comfort over long duration use. The company's Nibiru operating system lets you download apps, VR games, and 3D videos from the Nibiru Store. The headset weighs at 459 grams and comes with an adjustable head strap.

"After the stupendous success of Bingo C-6 smartwatch, we are delighted to announce another innovative offering - the Bingo G-200 VR Glass," said Abhinaya Pratap Singh, Marketing Manager, Bingo Technologies Pvt Ltd. "The Bingo G-200 is engineered to deliver a mesmerising immersive 3D experience and supreme comfort. It is Wi-Fi-enabled and can also be connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth, allowing you to experience a variety of 3D content."

VR headsets are in the early stages right now. At Rs. 5,999, the Bingo VR is a step-up compared to the Google Cardboard-based headsets, which require you to insert your phone to power the experience. This means that battery becomes a concern, as does storage on your phone. It's closer to the Samsung Gear VR in that it comes with a VR app store and a full VR experience, though the hardware is far behind the muscle that Samsung's top-end phones - the only devices compatible with the Gear VR, are powered by - though again, because you're relying on the phone, battery can be a limiting aspect when using the Gear VR too.
