Xiaomi Showcases Mi Band 2; Launches iHealth Box and More

Xiaomi at its Tuesday event unveiled the Mi Max phablet alongside revealing the new MIUI 8. The Chinese company at the same event also launched the new Xiaomi iHealth box which is a health-focused device and a new 10000mAh Mi Power Bank. Xiaomi CEO Jun Lei also showcased the upcoming Mi Band at the event.

The next-generation Mi Band featured a display which can be expected to be the highlight of the wearable. The next-generation Mi Band is expected to reduce the wearable's dependence on the connected smartphone apart from featuring a small display.

To recall, Xiaomi CEO Jun Lei ahead of the Tuesday event had confirmed that the Mi Band 2 was delayed by a month. Lei gave reasons that manufacturing the Mi Band 2 was difficult and it would be released.

Apart from showcasing the next Mi Band, Lei introduced the company's new Xiaomi iHealth box which will measure various medical related metrics such as blood pressure and heart beat among others. It sports a 4.3-inch display to show the readings while come with Wi-Fi connectivity. The Xiaomi iHealth box has been priced at CNY 399 (roughly Rs. 4,000).

The new 10000mAh Mi Power Bank has been priced at CNY 149 (roughly Rs. 1,500) and will come with USB Type-C port. It sports a 12.58mm side profile.

On Tuesday, Xiaomi announced the Mi Max in three variants - CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,000) for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model powered by a 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor; CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,000) for the 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage model powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor, and a third model priced at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,500) for the 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage and powered by Snapdragon 652 processor.
