Looks like Apple is getting into the business of promoting apps and App Store by giving apps away for free. A tweet from the official account of the App Store points to the fact that Cut the Rope: Experiments has gone free, and Apple might have something to do with it.

So what makes us things it's a regular feature? First, a lot of apps go free and @AppStore rarely tweets about them. Not even for popular ones. And second, the #FreeAppoftheWeek hashtag is a bit of a giveaway don't you think?

Apple seems to have take the cue from Amazon, which has had Free App of the Day section since launch and is one of the big reasons for its popularity.
