In an another attempt to take on photo sharing mobile service Snapchat, Facebook has rolled out a new feature called Messenger Day which lets users post illustrated photos and videos that disappear after a day.

TechCrunch reported Messenger Day - which reportedly tries to clone Snapchat's Stories feature - is now available in Poland. The publication also got confirmation of the test from a Facebook spokesperson, who said, "We know that people come to Messenger to share everyday moments with friends and family. In Poland we are running a small test of new ways for people to share those updates visually. We have nothing more to announce at this time." The company re-iterated there is no guarantee the feature will ever roll out beyond Poland.

Messenger Day appears at top of the conversation list in Facebook Messenger. Users can add animated text and graphics to pictures or video snippets before sharing them.

Back in August, Facebook announced it was testing MSQRD-style filters and masks for Live videos, selfies, and other photo content. Facebook first acquired Masquerade, the Belarus-based startup behind MSQRD back in March.

Earlier the same month, Facebook unveiled Instagram Stories, a blatant ripoff of Snapchat's Stories feature. Like Snapchat Stories, Instagram Stories lets users string together multiple photos or videos into a single video that can then be shared with friends. They can illustrate the final video, which will disappear after 24 hours.

Describing the feature in a blog post, Instagram said, "With Instagram Stories, you don't have to worry about overposting. Instead, you can share as much as you want throughout the day - with as much creativity as you want... Instagram has always been a place to share the moments you want to remember. Now you can share your highlights and everything in between, too."
