Google on Tuesday has announced that it is now rolling out Google Play Movies 'info cards' to all 69 countries where the service is available, including the recently added Belgium, Philippines, Switzerland, and Uganda. Earlier the 'info cards' feature was limited to users in US and UK markets. Notably TV shows are still only available in US, UK, Australia and Japan.

At present there are only a limited number of movies and TV shows currently supporting the info cards. The cards are similar to the Google Now cards but they aren't a part of it. These Info cards are compatible with devices running on Android 4.0 or higher.

"Have you ever wondered 'What's the name of that actor?' or 'Where have I seen him before?' Now, when you pause a supported movie on your tablet, you'll see info cards for the actors on screen and any music playing. You can then add their related movies to your Google Play wishlist, get the soundtrack, or search Google to discover even more about the actors or film." Google explained on its Google Play page (click 'Read More').

Also announcing the roll-out of the feature to all 69 countries on a Google+ post, Google added that users can test the feature by watching The Hobbit on Google Play.

Once the card identifies actors in video it will show a circle around their faces with the additional information. For songs being played in a movie or TV show, users need to touch their device's screen to pause playback. If the song is identified, cards will show the song's title, artist, along with where it can be downloaded on Google Play.

In order to check if a video has info card, users can go to a video's detail page on Google Play to see if an info card is listed for the particular movie/TV show.
