Google has updated its Search app on iOS, bringing a number of new features, including deeper integration with Google Now through Notifications, new cards, handsfree voice and search features, thereby offering a number of features that already exist in the Android version.

The updated Google Search app for iOS includes reminders and notifications. The app sends push notifications without the need for opening the Google Search app, alerting you for leaving for your next appointment or event, in case your flight is late or even for catching the last train home.

The Reminders feature on the Google Search app allows Google to remember things and the app will remind you at the right time and place, which means it's geolocation sensitive. Reminders can be set for things like  getting informed when musicians release a new album, a TV show has a new episode, actors star in a new movie or even celebrities and politicians making headlines.

One of the major features that the updated Google Search for iOS app offers is Handsfree voice, allowing you to search without the need to tap on the search button. You can just say "OK Google" to initiate a new search within the app. This features only works on iPhone 4S or later.

The updated Google Search for iOS app also features new cards that offer information related to movies, concerts and events tickets, flight boarding passes, car rentals reservation confirmation, warnings for your last train home leaving and lists of upcoming local events.

The Google Search for iOS app now offers a redesigned and simplified homepage, gestures to zoom or throw away images, one touch Google sign in if you use other Google apps and improved voiceover accessibility.

The updated Google Search app for iOS is available for download through the iTunes App Store.
