Square Enix Montreal, the developer of Hitman Go for Android and iOS, soon after launching the Android version of the game and teasing a new Hitman mobile game, has announced the next Hitman game for mobile devices - Hitman: Sniper.

To be showcased at E3 2014, the mecca for gamers, Hitman: Sniper is a 'massively competitive sniping game', and not a puzzle game like Hitman Go. Especially made for mobiles and tablet devices, the touch-friendly game will be released for free later this year.

Making the announcement on the official Hitman site, the team announced that Hitman: Sniper has been tailor-built for touchscreen devices. The company also released a tiny announcement trailer.

Describing the game as a 'massively competitive sniping game', Square Enix Montreal said the free nature of Hitman: Sniper will ensure a high-level of competition due to the wide access. It also added that items and content available via in-app purchases can also be earned by okaying the game.

Finally, the developers of the new Hitman game also said that those gamers who have played Hitman: Sniper Challenge, released last year ahead of Hitman Absolution, will have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Hitman: Sniper for mobiles and tablets.

We've designed Hitman: Sniper to be a massively competitive sniping game that will focus on the subtlety of execution. You'll need to have your wits about you to complete scenario-driven contracts that contain a number of targets and assignments. Each one is designed to have a high level of replayability, not only to fine-tune your approach but to explore creative alternatives and to achieve the ultimate score on the leaderboards. If you remember Hitman: Sniper Challenge, released by our friends at Io-Interactive ahead of the launch of Hitman Absolution, you'll have a pretty good idea of the sort of action you can expect.

Hitman: Sniper will be launching later this year and will be available free of charge. We want to offer people the opportunity to try the game for free, and then customize their own game experience with optional in-app purchases if they want to. For instance, you can get early access to contracts, or upgrade your sniper rifle - all things you can earn through playing the game. It's up to you which one you choose and the game won't force you down a particular route. By making Hitman: Sniper available for free, it will allow more people to have immediate access and increase the level of competition, which is at the core of the game.
