Inbox by Gmail Support Coming to Google Apps Soon

While on Friday Google expanded the reach of its Inbox by Gmail app to browsers including Firefox and Safari, apart from iPad tablets, it now has confirmed the upcoming support in Google Apps for Business and Education platform. The piece of information came via the Mountain View-based tech firm's Senior Vice President of Android, Chrome, and Apps, Sundar Pichai.

The Inbox by Gmail support for Google Apps for Business and Education was missing from Google's Friday announcement. However, Pichai via a tweet has mentioned that the support for the Google Apps users will roll out 'imminently'. The firm has not yet mentioned as to why it excluded Google Apps from the platform support list previously. While Pichai has confirmed the Inbox support, the company is still yet to reveal the exact date of release.

The search giant last month released the usage statistics of the Inbox by Gmail. As per the statistics shared by Google, Inbox by Gmail is used by 70 percent Android users, 28 percent iPhone users and 34 percent Web users across the globe. The company says 85 percent of the total email messages are bundled by users, most commonly into Promos (33 percent), Updates (20 percent), Forums (14 percent), Social (13 percent), and others (5 percent).

The firm in December gave a minor update to the Inbox by Gmail app and introduced it to the Android Wear platform. For Android Wear users, the Inbox app was updated to let them view messages, mark them as done, and reply to mails without opening the app on the smartphone.
