India Funding Roundup: Mockbank, Prozo, ClapsnSlaps, ReportBee, Guru-G

Bengaluru-based MockBank Learning Pvt. Ltd which run an online portal for bank, insurance, PSU, and government job exams secured $400,000 (roughly Rs. 2.6 crores) in a seed funding round led by Blume Ventures. Founded in 2013, the website provides custom tests and performance analysis, personalised faculty interactions.

Prozo
Delhi-based edutech firm Global Edu4Share Pvt Ltd, which owns and operates Prozo, an online marketplace for buying and selling of new and old books, coaching institute material, digital content, competitive exams preparation content and tele-mentorship programmes, has secured seed funding of $205,000 (Rs 1.37 crores) from a group of investors. The startup states that over 40 content providers are selling on its platform.

ClapsnSlaps
Online crowdsourced movie reviews portal ClapsnSlaps raised Rs. 1 crore in its second round of angel investment from a Mumbai-based production house R M Picture Company Pvt. Ltd. Founded in 2013, the site claims to have over 10,000 registered users, 70,000 monthly unique visitors over 130,000 monthly page views.

Report Bee, Guru-G
India Educational Investment Fund (IEIF), a US-based early stage impact investment fund focused on the educational sector, announced its first two investments in Report Bee and Guru-G.

Report Bee is a cloud based deep learning platform for the education sector to measure and improve learning using data analytics. Its platform is being used in 251 schools across Asia impacting more than 200,000 students and 10,000 teachers, a press statement said. Guru-G is the world's first gamified platform for teachers and uses proprietary frameworks from education research and learning analytics to support teachers through an app. Established and funded by Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, IEIF supports social enterprises focused on education services and skill training to children and youth from urban, low income families in India.
