MixRadio, the streaming service from Microsoft Nokia, has withdrawn its unlimited music download subscription for India.

The move was confirmed by Dean Pattrick, Evangelist for MixRadio at Microsoft, on Twitter on Tuesday, saying, "MixRadio service will be there, just not the unlimited service." Notably, the renewal option was not been available from quite some time, and the company had previously said that it is working to fix the issue.

Further replying to users on Twitter, Pattrick pointed them to Microsoft's FAQ section about the same.

You can no-longer purchase renewals for your unlimited download subscription as this feature is no-longer available.

However you will still be able to enjoy all of your favourite artists and discover new ones with the MixRadio streaming service on your Lumia WP8 device. You can build your own personal radio station with hundreds of curated mixes, the off-line Mix feature and even create your own Mix based on your personal music taste.

There is no clear indication of whether the withdrawal of the MixRadio unlimited music download subscription is temporary or permanent, the unfortunate news came on Tuesday and was first reported by Windows Central blog.

Last year in November, Nokia had rebranded the Nokia Music streaming and download service, as the MixRadio in 31 countries including India. The service allows users to play curated playlists or mixes and even download them for offline listening. Tracks can be downloaded by searching for an artist or an album name.
