NDTV has rolled out an updated version of its news app for iPhone users. The app features a new card-based UI that makes it easier to discover content and switch between various categories by simply swiping left or right.

The new app is designed to let you find your way through the app with fewer taps. With the tabs at top and bottom out of the way, there is more real estate for content. Existing users of the NDTV iPad app will find the new interface all too familiar.

The app features the familiar categories like Top Stories, Recent, Trending, People (who's in the news), Cheat Sheet (quick breakdowns of the top stories), Cricket, Sports, Entertainment, Technology, Business, All India, Cities, South and World.

The v4.0 of the NDTV iPhone app utilises iOS 6's native Facebook integration to let you share interesting content with friends and family. Another addition to the app is the popular game Sudoku for moments you're feeling bored.

The app retains the live TV feed of various NDTV channels (NDTV 24x7, NDTV India, NDTV Profit, NDTV Good Times) with a new touch - if your Internet bandwidth is low, it will automatically switch you to audio-only feed instead of simply dropping the connection.

The NDTV iPhone retains other familiar features like Photo Galleries, Videos, News Alerts and more. It is now available as a free download from the App Store.
