Nikon D750 With 24.3-Megapixel CMOS Sensor Launched at Rs. 1,34,450

Nikon India on Friday announced the launch of their latest DSLR camera - the D750. The Japanese company proudly claims that the D750 is 'the smallest and lightest FX-format (full-frame) digital SLR camera'. The D750 body-only is priced at Rs. 134,450 and according to Nikon the D750 + AF-S NIKKOR 24-120MM F/4G ED VR lens kit will be available starting November 2014.

The D750 has a 24.3-megapixel CMOS sensor and Expeed 4 image-processing engine inside carbon-fiber reinforced thermoplastics (LFT) and magnesium alloy body. The camera has an effective ISO range from 100 to 12800 and is also expandable from Lo 1 (ISO 50 equivalent) right up to Hi 2 (ISO 51200 equivalent). The 51-point autofocus (AF) system employs a new AF sensor module that enhances low-light performance (down to -3EV). It can also record FHD (1920x1080/60p) videos at 60fps.

Nikon D750 offers high-speed continuous shooting at approximately 6.5 fps with a highlight-weighted metering function that helps prevent overblown highlights. The 3.2-inch tiltable-LCD monitor has a viewing angle of 170-degrees, and users can also adjust the colour balance according to their preference. There is built in Wi-Fi and using Nikon's Wireless Mobile Utility application users can transfer of images from the D750 to any compatible smart device of choice. The D750 also features the support for wireless image transfer with the optional Eye-Fi card. Nikon provides double SD memory card slots to enable "Overflow" recording, "Backup" recording, separate RAW/JPEG recording and shooting, and even copying between slots.

Speaking about the new launch, Hiroshi Takashina, managing director, Nikon India Pvt. Ltd, said, "With the addition of Nikon D750 we aim to strengthen our foothold in the world of photography. As the Indian photography market matures, we are witnessing strong growth for the D-SLR category. With this launch we are aiming to provide the photographer more choices & we believe this product will strongly appeal to photo enthusiasts & serious hobbyists who are aspiring to escalate their photography experience with a portable FX-format (full-frame) D-SLR."
