Great performance from this computer. I got this to replace an older Dell laptop and I am extremely pleased with this computer. It is extremely light and the profile is very thin. The keyboard lights up, which is very handy in low light situations. The computer easily flips to a tablet and the touch controls are very easy to operate. The speed at which it runs is a vast improvement to my previous computer and the screen resolution is outstanding. Great purchase and would highly recommend it.

the sleek design is simply amazing. with the 2-in-1 build i can use it like a book. the battery life is also quite good. all-in-all i liked the package

Had this laptop for a few months now love it. I love taking note in class with a stylus and has been great for school and casual games.

The product came exactly as I had seen on this site. Thanks to amazon family in delivering it in time and the product meet my expectations.

The Dell Inspiron 13 loads fast and has a great display. The 2 in 1 feature is cool where you use it as laptop with a keyboard or a touch screen notepad. Windows 10 is already installed and the facial recognition feature is great. It was easy to set up and the lit up keyboard is a real nice feature for typing in the dark or dimly lit room. It looks fantastic. Upon setting up it took about 24 hours for all the updates to load which is the only reason I took a star off. Even after it loaded all the updates there were a few glitches got worked out as you turned it off and on. Overall I love it. It looks great is really nice and slick. Run times depending upon the task sometimes buggers down.

I have a love/hate relationship with Dell. For the last few years, it?s been mostly hate. Offshore and often incompetent customer service and tech support. Very poor manufacturing quality control. I wanted to see if anything has changed, so I took advantage of this opportunity to evaluate the Inspiron 13 5000 2-in-1. Overall, I am favorably impressed. The 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8550U is surprisingly fast: on NovaBench, it turned out a score of 1,253, which is very impressive. The CPU is very, very capable. The stock 8GB RAM is adequate, including for graphic and video editing programs. Dell says the unit will take a second 8GB stick, which I already have acquired, but not installed. I may just take the chance and try to run 32GB of RAM. If it works, I?ll let you know. The 1TB hard drive, by contrast, is very, very slow. Fully booting takes several minutes, which is very surprising. There isn?t a lot of bloatware: the drive is simple very slow. I?ll be replacing it with Hybrid or SSD as soon as I can. With 16GB or more of RAM and a Hybrid or SSD, I suspect this unit will pretty much fly. The Intel UHD Graphics 620 is quite a surprise. I loaded Photoshop and another demanding graphics program and they ran surprisingly well. Not as fast or smooth as with an Nvidia card, but they ran reasonably well. I do wish the graphics were upgradeable, though. The 13.3 inch screen is simply great. Wide angle of view. Colors really pop. And it is properly sensitive to touch. (I haven?t tried it with a pen.) For its size, there?s nothing more I would ask for with regard to the screen. The touchpad is more than adequate. I didn?t experience any issues. The keyboard ranks as pretty good, but I much prefer Lenovo keyboards. The flexibility of the unit is really excellent. I use it a lot as a tablet with a third-party holder. It?s heavy, but tolerable, though I almost always rest it on a table or my lap. So far, I haven?t had any quality issues. Build quality on this unit is excellent.But I am very wary of Dell products. Battery life appears to be fairly short, around four hours, though I am sure you could get more out of it with Scrooge-like power management techniques.The unit is pretty light. I suspect it will become my regular travel computer.Overall, I like it ? but I worry because it?s a Dell. Once upon a time, Dell stood for quality. Not so much any more. But maybe they?re coming back. Time will tell, but so far, so good.Jerry

I've been using this laptop for a few months now and it has really grown on me. I think the best thing noticably well done is the IPS display. It has great viewing angles. The touchscreen is responsive and I've found myself using it more than I expected, including as a tablet and in tent mode.I'm going from a 17" beheamoth of a laptop to this 13.3" and was concerned that it would be just too small, but it really isn't. The keyboard isn't too squished together and the backlighting is a nice touch. Of course, with the slim/small size comes a battery that is good, but don't expect all day use without some major adjustments in settings.I'm also impressed with the processor, with the 8th Gen Intel i7, I was doing some pretty intensive tasks, including streaming gaming with no noticable lag in video, while switching back and forth between other applications.With 8GB of RAM and space for more, there is definitely enough RAM for most people's needs, but I prefer to have a more future proof laptop and wish it came with 16GB. At the same time, most of the i7s with 16GB of RAM I've seen at much higher price. So I can always at the extra RAM later once the price comes down. But if you don't like to mess with that and want to future proof your laptop, you might consider just paying a bit more for a different model.I'm also a little surprised they went with the 1TB mechanical instead of a smaller Solid State Drive. I thought that was pretty much expected with ultrabooks these days. Another drawback that other reviewers have noted is the fan noise. Once you start running some high intensity applications, that fan kicks on and is loud. I forgot how loud since I'm usually wearing headphones, but yesterday, I took them off and was reminded.Overall, this is a pretty decent laptop at a reasonable price considering its compact size, the 8th gen i7 processor, and IPS display.PROS:-Display quality-Backlit keyboard-ProcessorCONS-Gets warm quickly-Fan noise when running high intensity applications-Battery is good, not great, but meets expectations at this sizeEdit: Review updated to be more clear about fan noise

I?m trying to rate it 4.5 stars but oh well. I?m not well versed enough to actually rate computers but I can say for my purposes it is more than sufficient. I do a little programming using R and python and so far my computer hasn?t blown up. It?s a little noisy at times but I only notice that when I have it plugged up and using it at the same time. That?s my only pet peeve....the noise. Otherwise it?s good amount of memory and storage and works fast for small programs and scripts that I write.

I have used dell laptop since 2006. Old generation laptops are much more better from current dell laptop in term of durability and battery life.

Sometimes it gets warm really quickly

It is not as fast as I expected. The product specifications stated that it is 4Ghz but the processor in the actual machine reads @1.80 - 2 Ghz.

I like the laptop, but I've only had it for a month or so and it already needs a new battery. I bought it used on Amazon- would have been good to be told how old it was when I bought it. I only saved 100$ buying it used and now I have to spend 45$ on a new battery- would have been better off buying it new I guess.

très beau design, bon produit mais disque dur vraiment pas terrible, ralentit extrêmement la machine, au point de changer pour mettre un ssd, apres fait son boulot.Pour le ventilateur, il auraient du remplacer par un refroidisseur dernière génération qui ne fait pas de bruit, au lieu d'avoir un qui tourne car a la longue ça s'use.avec un bon refroidisseur et un ssd c'est le top.Peut faire mieux

Is a practical size but slow when you doMore the one thing

Dell Inspiron 13 5000After using this for months now I am not overly impressed with it.Really had hoped it would replace my outdated and nearly broken Sony Vaio but it is so so much slower that I changed back to the Sony.This Dell for the money has been a bit frustrating and disappointing.Not only is it slower than my 2014 machine it is so much louder and runs a bit hot.The other issue for me personally it is hard to get used to the smaller footprint and not having F keys to set up the way I am used to.I do not do much online so it is not running slow and hot due to anything I am asking it to do. Just it can't keep up with performance.Overall this machine is not what I had hoped it would be and not one any of my teens can even use for their data intense projects for school.

I just buy this laptop almost 1 month. After i updated the laptop. It shows ?no bootage found? and just keeping shut down

Don?t buy it. Works slower than my other system which is 4 years old. After starting it, you have to give it a few minutes, before you can actually start working on it.

Its not worth what you pay for it, very slow performance, giving noice while working... May be i got some deffictive peice... Returned the laptop ....

Its a pain. Always have something or the other problem. It?s always been so slow.

Computer works like dial up real slow . Don?t recommend

I just turned on my laptop, it's not even two hours and it's already hot and with an irritating sound. We are in the year 2018, should not spend these things with articles of more than 700 dollars.

stay away from this notebook. it runs hot loud and is super slow my 4 year old Lenovo i5 runs circles around this 8th gen i7. its not the processor that is the issue. day 1 opened box set up installed office and then spent 12 hours trying to resolve HDD usage at 100%. after countless updates and driver updates too still not doing better. turned off superfetch and windows search and tips still not better go to dell to run diags. Diags will not complete no error code. Call dell without asking for codes or any real technical questions they process for replacement. I have dealt with dell support enough to know they ask a ton more questions before even considering replacement they didn't offer repair which I would have denied them to do any way they went straight to replacement the whole call took about a minute. so this tells me that they know its a crappy product they don't want to diagnose the issue they just want to replace it. DO NOT buy its a bad model. I am quite disappointed as I was really looking forward to an 8th gen 4 core i7 and really putting it through its paces. As an IT pro I recommend Dell for desktops and servers to all of my clients I had a Lenovo that was getting long in the tooth but still alive. I have been aware of some models of dell having issues I have never had a replacement offered at the moment of call with out at least some basic questions and trouble shooting. Dell knows its a problem child.

It is running very slow and able to open browser even it is RAM 8GB. I am very much favorite for Dell but disappointed due to this item.
