About Lorni - The Flaneur Movie (2022)

Shem (Adil Hussain) is a street smart, out-of-work, self-styled detective who decides to escape the lethargy of small-town Shillong when asked to investigate the disappearance of an object that holds great cultural value.

While navigating through the narrow streets and dark alleys, he embarks on an emotional and mental journey that becomes reflective of his reality, and that of Shillong. Shem is taken aback to discover acute race tensions as well as diverse cultural identitities in Shillong, as compared to the rest of India.

Like the quintessential flaneur, he navigates the real and the thinkable, which further complicates the personal, the emotional, and the political.
