An early access user to the closed beta of Tom Clancy's The Division set to arrive next week for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows has revealed the estimated size of the download gamers are looking at.

Posting via an image sharing site on user-curated social news website Reddit, the aforementioned user - going by the name of legate213 - put the size of the closed beta for PC at over 26GB.

The closed beta will be available to people who signed up on January 28 for Xbox One owners and a day later for players on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. The person who revealed the size is reportedly a part of group of testers who are tasked with seeing how particular parts of the game work, including "stressing the login servers, matchmaking etc." according to comments on the Reddit thread.

The image has since been deleted, possibly owing to clauses in the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) signed by testers. The NDA explicitly prevents anyone from capturing or sharing screenshots and/ or recordings, reveal game details and so forth. The user did point out sharing the file size wasn't an issue, but the picture's removal suggests otherwise.

And if you're wondering how the game will perform on your console or computer, the game's creative director Magnus Jansen said they have been able to get the maximum out of every platform thanks to the SnowDrop Engine. "We are utilising every tiny little cycles of all the platforms to its maximum. That's the sense of pride about not wasting people's hardware," he said in an interview with video gaming website EPN.

Game developer Ubisoft Massive has come under fire recently over the possibility of microtransactions in Tom Clancy's The Division that would allow players to essentially skip levels or get access to vanity content with real money. Jansen clarified this week that in-game purchases had been under consideration, but have now been scrapped.
