It takes a long time to begin cooling but is a decent ac. Should go with at least 1.5 ton instead.

Great product from Hitachi. 3600 BTU of cooling capacity with EER of 3.09. Best in the class. Only issue is that the temperature display on the AC is not clear from outside as the glass is Black.Fast delivery from the seller and got the AC installed next day.

As per the initial on-paper scrutiny this model seems to be a good choice...PROS1. Cooling capacity is > 3600 watts (more the better and for 1 Ton model this is appreciable)2. All copper (Maintenance is cheaper)3. More importantly, it is having R410A refrigerant. R22 (the older refrigerant) is being phased out from the world. R410A is more efficient.4. After the amazon pay cashback this would cost us 21810-2181=19,629 INR (at this price this seems to be a very sweet deal)CONS1. Hitachi is notorious for its After Sales service.INITIAL IMPRESSIONS1. Ordered on 24th April 2017 at 9:00 AM2. Delivery date of 26th April 2017 from 11 AM to 05 PMUpdate: 28th April 2017Received AC a day late on 27th April 2017, 04:30 PM.Yet to log an installation request with Hitachi...out of station this weeked...most probably...installation will be done next week only.Will keep you guys updated with how is the interaction with Hitachi...

Let me give a quick summary of pros and consPros:1 Simple construction and has single fan unlike summer QC model which is complex design and fault prone.2 cools fast and good air throw.3. Good cooling (air temperature is -5 degrees)Cons:1 bad plastic quality. Filter door won't close properly and might break if forced.2 Rated power is 1140 W but the consumption is between 1240 and 1450 W based on external temperature. Please see my attached photo3 The pin (socket) temperature reaches very high temperature. The stabilizer was burnt when the AC ran during peak summer. Hence I had to add D-Link smart plug to detect pin temperature and shutt off at 55 degrees.4 Poor eer and deceptive rating. this compressor is very inefficient if external temperature is above 38 degrees. At 42 deg centigrade, socket temperature and amps are dangerously high. Better have thermal protection if you live in a hot place.Update: If your socket temperature is high, the issue could be due to the fan. I reduced the fan speed to low and the socket temperature was below 50 degrees. The issue for me was due to the fan.Update 2: Summer is back again this year and the issue is occurring again. Compressor cannot handle external temperature above 40 degrees. The compressor shuts off at 44 degrees. Unfortunately my city is hot and above 40 degrees now. We need to switch off AC after 2 PM as the plug gets very hot due to poor compressor performance. The wattage goes above 1500 watts when external temperature reaches 42 degrees.

Cooling is not up to the mark .......

After purchase AC is not working only in 1 month of time.

Received faulty product. AC cooling last only for few minutes and then compressor goes off. Very disappointed with this piece of AC from Hitachi.

Waist of money. Cooling capacity is poor

making huge sound in operation and wrong info given as SILENT OPERATION. amazon has closed the window for return. now to fight with HITACHI. DO NOT BUY ON LINE. H RAMAN

Frankly speaking, I repent having it. It does not live up to Hitachi name. It's performance is erratic. If I have the option I do not mind spending a little extra to changi it.

Even after Two weeks of delivery no installation yet.

It is not working had a gas leak at the time of installation. But I must Say Amazon has handled it well....: I wish Amazon could get a replacement process with less lead time.

The AC shipped was defective - The inner vent housing was broken and there is no gas in the ac. So ultimately cooling is not possible. So the ultimate looser is the customer because there is no refund for the installation cost paid by the customer + no replacement of model + waste of labour cost in the carpentry work + waste of time. Its the duty of amazon to refund the installation cost but they simply refused it.A word of caution for other buyers please do not buy high valued products from amazon because they do not provide any support for the financial cost invested by the customer on the product although the responsibility is theirs.
