Making job search easier, Google on Wednesday announced a significant update for its job search platform - Google for Jobs. The update gives access to salary information for job positions as well as improved location settings and job application choices. The Google for Jobs platform, introduced back in May, is being claimed to have connected tens of millions of job seekers to new opportunities and seen 60 percent more employers showing their openings through it.

A job search often includes salary as a parameter to judge whether an opportunity is worthy enough to proceed. However, as per Google, salary information is missing from over 85 percent of job postings in the US alone. The search giant is, therefore, adding estimated salary ranges to its job search platform. These ranges will be based on specific job titles, locations and employers - that all will be drawn from sources such as Glassdoor, PayScale, LinkedIn, and Paysa among others. For the jobs that already have a salary listed, Google's platform would show a comparison to the estimated range for that position.

In addition to salary information, Google for Jobs will now include a Location filter that will help you find jobs that are nearby. The platform will have a range of distances, from two miles up to 200 miles or anywhere to give you the flexibility to pick a suitable match for your career.

Google's team dedicated to its job search offering has also eased the way you apply for a job by giving you multiple places to fill in your application. This means you don't need to do another research to find a professional site to apply, such as Monsters or CareerBuilder, after searching a relevant opportunity.

Furthermore, Google for Jobs is adding a 'Saved jobs' tab that will help you keep the best suitable options at a safe place. This new ability will be available in a couple of weeks across all devices supporting internet access.

"We all know the job hunt can be stressful, so Google is here to help. We review every piece of feedback we receive, and we'll continue to add tools to help make the job search easier for you," said Nick Zakrasek, product manager for the job search platform, Google, in a blog post.

You can submit your experience with the new update by clicking the 'Feedback' button beneath any of the new features.

So far, there is no word on the availability of Google for Jobs in markets other than the US. Google might test the platform for some more time before making it accessible throughout the globe.
