After the mishap of forced factory resets two months ago, the Google Wifi routers are troubling users again. Several users are complaining of drops in connectivity, and Google has already acknowledged the issue and says it's working on a fix.

Since March, many Google Wifi users are using the product forum to complain about drops in connectivity as their primary hub turns solid blue. This issue has reportedly cropped up ever since Google Wifi got updated to version 9202.35.8 last month, and a power cycle does restore the connection, but only temporarily. Some affected users have even tried to perform a hard reset, but the issue does not go away permanently.

Google has responded to these complaints, and has confirmed that its team is working on a fix. Until the fix arrives, the tech giant has also listed some workarounds for users to solve the issue for the time being. The first one is to "attempt to setup Google Wifi from scratch using a different owner account. This can mean creating a new Google account or using a family member's Google account to setup the Google Wifi devices through the app." The second is to disconnect wireless Windows 10 devices or Xbox devices (or connect them via Ethernet instead). "There have been a few cases in which disconnecting any Windows 10 devices or Xbox devices has brought the Google Wifi network back up again without crashes," Google said.

While both of these are rather inconvenient workarounds, these are the only options available for now for affected users. In February, several Google Wifi router users complained that their devices crashed randomly. Google after investigating the issue asked router owners to perform a hard reset to solve the issue. The fix offered by Google didn't go too well with several users who later even demanded a refund for the products.
